Reprisal attacks in the township of Kafanchan in Kaduna state has claimed the life of Malam Bulus Adamu, the village head of Ungwar Shekamang
Armed attackers believed to be Fulani gunmen late thursday night attacked a home of Fant-suwan chiefdom in Jema’a local government area of Kaduna State in a pre-dawn raid and
killed the village head and his wife. The wife who survived the initial assaults later died of her injuries.

the Kaduna state government on Friday claimed that soldiers were drafted to quell the crisis while a 24-hour curfew was imposed in the areas following the violence that broke out on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, hundreds of native women from Kafanchan and surroundings thronged the main Kafanchan Police Station bare-breasted to protest the alleged increasing night attacks on their communities by suspected Fulani militia.
Kaduna State Police Commissioner, Mallam Bala Nasarawa confirmed the two incidences on phone.
A source who informed Saturday Tribune on what happened said: “The women came from Kafanchan town, Kanikon Village, Ungiwan Rimmi, Kasit, Takau, Ungwan Masrara all on foot. I don’t know who was coordinating them. But from my window here, I saw that they were wearing nothing over their chests — the young, middle age and old women.”
He continued, ’’ I have never seen such a thing in my life! Their breasts were exposed and they were singing Christian burial songs and carrying placards. Their complaint was that soldiers were killing their youths and raping their daughters.
“They also indicted the soldiers of aiding and abetting the attacks on their communities by Fulani gunmen and therefore don’t need their presence any more in the area.”
When a confirmation on this information was sought from the Kaduna state Police boss, Nasarawa who has now made Kafanchan his base, he said, “It is true that some women protested against what has been happening, but it was a peaceful demonstration. It’s not true that all of them left their breasts open. Many were fully dressed
